Between Light
and Grain
An emotional photo journey through film photography
About the project
Silent Grain is an emotional exploration of everyday moments captured on 35 mm film. It is a project born from a fascination with the quiet poetry of analogue photography — the way light touches surfaces, the way time slows down inside a frame. Through subtle imperfections, film allows feelings to exist without control or perfection. Every grain becomes part of a story, and every blurred line tells of movement, warmth, and memory. This project is not about documenting the world as it is, but about revealing how it feels — the soft edges of light, the stillness between gestures, and the emotion that lingers long after the moment has passed.
The Concept
The project “Between Light and Grain” is a quiet exploration of perception and feeling — how we see, remember, and experience time through light. Each photograph captures not just what exists, but what lingers — a trace of movement, emotion, and silence.

Memory
The frame becomes a fragment of something that cannot return. Film transforms moments into memories, allowing time to soften their edges. What remains is not accuracy, but essence — a recollection made visible.
Light
Every image begins with light — the way it shifts, touches, and reveals. Light defines both time and emotion. In analogue photography, it becomes tangible, imperfect, human. Each reflection and shadow holds its own quiet narrative.
Emotion
Photography is not about clarity; it’s about connection. Emotion exists between light and grain — in the softness of focus, in the tremble of a hand, in the warmth of a fleeting glance. Every imperfection becomes truth.
